Banking unions

You know during the week I can make a payment using the faster payments system and it’s in the receiving account before I can log off one account and into the other.

At weekends I can start a transfer on a Saturday morning and not have the money get to the account it’s aimed at until Monday morning.

Now clearly no human is involved in these transactions otherwise the seconds taken during the week would be stretched to days.

So why do the computers get to take the weekend off?

Or is it just another way that the banks rip us off.
